Mission and Programs

Mission

We are called to the right sharing of world resources, from the burdens of poverty and materialism into the abundance of God’s love, to work toward equity and lives of dignity through partnerships with our human family throughout the world.

Spiritual Foundation

Right Sharing of World Resources’s work is grounded in Quakerism, and open to people of all faiths and no faith at all. The spiritual foundation of our work springs from our response to God’s call to love our neighbors, wherever they may be. Our work is grounded in Quaker testimonies that include integrity, community, equality, peace, simplicity, and stewardship, as manifest, for example, in the Biblical vision of Shalom. In the oneness of all life and the conviction that there is that of God in everyone, we believe that we bear responsibility for one another’s well-being, and for that of the Earth.

Programs

The Power of Enough

Right Sharing of World Resources partners with people to reflect on the burdens of materialism.  We explore abundance, scarcity, generosity, gratitude, and the power of enough.

We invite people into a spirit of mutual belonging and sharing from our abundance. Together we strive to embrace our shared responsibility for one another’s well-being and for that of the Earth.

Community Development

Right Sharing of World Resources provides resources for groups of women living in communities of poverty in Guatemala, India, Kenya, and Sierra Leone to improve income and quality of life for families and communities, in a sustainable and self-determined way.

Our work is grounded in honoring the dignity and agency of everyone we work with. We are committed to taking small but meaningful steps to address inequity in the world.
