SUMMARY:Money\, Self\, and Community (a virtual workshop\, every Thursday for four weeks)
DESCRIPTION:Come to our workshop “Money\, Self\, and Community\,” a deeper exploration of what is discussed in the Money Cafe workshop. Money is often taboo – something worldly and uncomfortable to talk about. Yet money profoundly shapes our lives\, our relationships\, and our communities. We’ll explore our personal and ancestral histories with money\, how this shows up in our relationships\, and choices we can make as we let our lives speak. \nWe’ll meet weekly on Thursdays at 7:30 pm ET for 4 90-minute sessions (starting Sept. 17 and ending Oct. 8). This is a pay-as-led workshop; we’ll invite donations of support at the end of the workshop. Register here and let others know if you think they’d be interested\, or if you’d like to embark on this money journey with them.

SUMMARY:Living Faithfully in God’s Economy of Enough for All: Church as Neighbor (Right Sharing Conversations)
DESCRIPTION:Living Faithfully in God’s Economy of Enough for All: Church as Neighbor \nGod’s dream is of a world in which everyone is blessed and experiencing God’s abundance. A world of justice\, peace\, kindness\, and compassion\, in which systems and structures serve the common good. where no one is left behind. As people of faith\, we share the responsibility to build a world that works for everyone. What piece of God’s dream are we meant to carry with our lives and resources? In this conversation\, we will learn from one another\, and the Church of the Saviour model\, as we imagine specific next steps for living into God’s economy of gift and grace. Mike Little\, a covenant member of the Church of the Saviour and Executive Director of the Faith and Money Network (a mission of the church)\, will lead this discussion. \nFounded in 1947\, the Church of the Saviour is considered one of the first radical experiments in modern American Church history.  It focuses on an intense\, highly committed model of an “inward journey” (spiritual growth) and an “outward journey” (social justice and community service)\, breaking the mold of traditional American churches in several profound ways: \n\nHigh demands of membership: joining requires rigorous preparation\, a pledge to give away a percentage of income\, and active participation in both a weekly small group and a specific outward ministry.\nA decentralized structure: giving away authority at the point of people’s gifts\, not titles or expertise.\n\nWithin the Faith and Money Network\, Mike fosters relationships with individuals\, non-profits\, and churches\, leading reflections and discussions on the role of money in our lives as people of faith and in our work as the community of faith. \nRegister to receive email updates and the Zoom link here.
