2. PROGESS OF THE PROJECT

Most important events that have moved the project toward the gaols :

1. This project has positively improved the life of impoverished groups of youth and gave them the ability to build trust among them and the spirit to work together as a team

2. It awoke other active youth association in local churches ( 80% of local churches have now very dynamic youth association and they all started to gather their contribution.

3. The church leaders who committed all their effort to sustain the youth activities, because at the beginning the youth who were not experienced to manage a project would fail because of their poor experiences but almost all church leaders intervened for the successfulness of our activities.

4. The Quarterly Meetings provided a lot, they promise to give 15,000 every year to the most active youth association every year.

3. DIFFICULTIES FACES THE PROJECT

The Kigali project which failed with the Block Cement project which wasn't match with the market caused the misunderstanding among the project participants this was the reason why this year we didn't give the loan, we first wanted to help them to understand that money, interests were not the main purpose of our activities but to build the next peaceful generation by putting their energies together and build one another's efforts in a peaceful way. We think that with the next support they will be given the loan as usually because those small conflicts have been solved.

Now we have many very active association which are being born, are even very dynamic that the previous, they know that we will give them loan as we did for other associations ( it is a positive thing ) but we are asking ourselves where we will find funds to give them loan as we did for previous association we gave loans.

The associations in general even if they are paying well back the loan they have been given they take more than a year to pay back the loan which was supposed to be pain in only one year to permit us to give them the second one and start another new association as we promised them

The Crisis in Kenya , caused the prices in Rwanda to be multiplied and all countries in the great region because the countries in the great lakes we used only Mombasa port, this disturb some of our activities.

SUGGESTIONS :

All participants of all projects suggested to be visited, they want see people who assisted them to reach the step they've reached now and express their thanks.

We now have many new dynamic associations which are being born, and we found that in order to take the Rwanda youth where their activities will be totally self supported and to support even the future associations which could born in the very lasting future time, as we have suggested that you agree at least to support us other more other 2 years after 3 rd year support. And as you have asked us to identify the reason why additional funding is needed, and if the loans are being repaid and revolving to more people why the additional fund is needed :

Loans disbursed in the first 3 years are being repaid and revolving to more people to pay back accordingly the agreement we have made with them and we have also explained to them that when they pay back the loan we will give them for the next year and start with another new association, this idea awoke at least 10 local churches in every Quarterly Meeting.

Note that the first year it was 1 association, the second year it would be 2 association (one existing and new one) the third year 3 associations and so on in every Q.M., and we have observed that most of them now are already organised and we have observed that those who have been organised and put their small resources together to wait for very long ( 5 years or even more ) we are sure that they can easily be discouraged and this should be a small threat to reach the goal which to work with all those who are ready and fit to our conditions of partnership.

This is the reason why we thought to start with more than what we could start with the normal way which is to wait the repayment of previous loan in order to reach the goal as department which represent more than 45 local churches.

Two Associations of Ruhengeri have grown potatoes and maize, those projects

Give hope for the future, this is the reason why we have bought a small land in that area and we hope to continue to do so, so that they may grow without renting the land.

The youth who have participated in this project testified that it only God who have talked to RSWR to provide the support they have been given ( it was an opportunity to help them to arise them economically and to help them to come together to share about peace building especially in this time where we are fighting with Genocide ideology)

Cyangugu Associations : Pig breading was the first association and now we have started with another one in the second year with Boat transportation, they hire the engine, we plan for the next years to buy an engine.

In Cyangugu, where we have chosen the second association is in Kirambo local church, this church is located on the beach, it is on the border between Rwanda and Republic Democratic of Congo, people on both sides interchange food and other items, this is a very sure project that can not fail, we are praying God so that we can get our own engine

Wishing you divine blessings in all your activities, we wait to hear from you.

With Peace,
